MCAS Free Tours

Among all the wonderful things to do in Yuma, these activities are a lot of fun and very educational.

The Yuma Marine Corps Air Station offers a series of three free tours annually for Yuma Area residents and any Yuma Visitors. The tours are scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday in November, January and February. Dates do fluctuate, so please check with the MCAS Public Affairs office.

The tours include a working K-9 Demo and a Marine Corps martial arts display. The visitors will then board buses that will stop on the flight line to see aircraft vehicles and weapons and equipment used by marines each day.

To attend, visitors must travel along Avenue 3E and enter the air station via the Main Gate, which is the second gate to the right, directly across from the Chevron.

A picture ID such as a passport, state driver’s license, or state ID card is required for those in attendance.
Upon arrival and after parking personal vehicles, visitors will board buses and be treated to a guided tour highlighting features of the air station and its history. During the tour, buses will stop on the flight line, where visitors will be able to see firsthand some of the aircraft, vehicles, weapons and equipment used by Marines here as well as overseas in support of combat missions, and to speak with active duty personnel.

The main gate will open for parking about 8:30 a.m. Buses will depart on a schedule from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. If a visitor arrives after buses depart, they may have to wait until a bus returns from a trip. (Please do not arrive more than a few minutes before the gate opens to prevent traffic from backing up on Avenue 3E.)

Photography and video is permitted throughout the tour, unless otherwise noted. Food and refreshments will be available. Bathrooms are available at the parking area and flight line display area.

General Tours

General tours can be requested for groups of 10 to 50, such as church groups or clubs. These tours are similar to the Winter Visitors Tours, but will not include a static display. Instead, there will be one or two stops, such as inside a squadron’s hangar. Depending on the group, specific stops may also be requested, such as a tour of the chapel for a church group

General tours normally last between one and two hours.

Adult groups wishing to include lunch with the tour may request the lunch buffet at the Sonoran Club on base. Groups must request this option in advance. Prices will be provided to the group and payment arrangements must be identified in advance.

For more information, contact the MCAS Yuma Public Affairs Office at 928-269-2275 or 928-269-2942.
