Working at Jet Rent I always get asked about things to do in Yuma. This town has some interesting things to do and see. I was asked to go and check out the Wild World Zoo. I was intrigued to see what would be there.
At first uppon arrival I just saw different types of Goats and an ostrich way off yonder. We grabbed some pellets in some disposable cups and we could go around and feed some one the animals. As I began to wonder if this was just a misnamed farm I came across an interesting find. A wallaroo.
“A wallaroo is any of three closely related species of moderately large macropod, intermediate in size between the kangaroos and the wallabies. The name “wallaroo” is a portmanteau of wallaby and kangaroo. Wikipedia“. Things got interesting real quick!
Once I was across the bridge I saw more goats and an Alpaca. It was the cutest animal there. It really resembles a llama! ” An alpaca is a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in appearance. Wikipedia” There were several animals there from a Minnie Hinne, Coati and even a Zaboo.
One of my favorites has to be Smokey, a baby camel. Some of which you have to see for your self! It was awesome my children loved every minute of it! I would definitely recommend anyone to stop by and check it out!
Admission is $5 per person, $4 for kids 3-13 and $4 for seniors age 55 and older. Children under 3 are free. Military and school group discounts available.
