Thousands Visit the Imperial Sand Dunes on New Year's 2013

The numbers are in! The El Centro Bureau of Land Management park ranger station has the final numbers for Imperial Sand Dunes visitors for the 2013 New Year’s holiday weekend.

117,730 visitors came to the  popular riding area. They were greeted by cold and partially rainy  weather at the dunes that weekend. The number was based on permits sold durning those days.

This figure, however, does not reflect those who celebrated their New Year’s at Superstition Mountain.
